Bottle Rocket Triple Launcher Experiment

Help me give my students a fun way to study Newton's 3rd Law of Motion through Bottle Rocket Launches. With this triple launch pad we can launch more rockets at once for efficiency and also to compare rockets.

My Students

I am teaching a new club called Girls Excelling in Math & Science (GEMS). Students have selected this club because they are interested in this career path and it sounds fun to be in a room full of like minded, ambitious girls.

Building rockets, programming robots, cup stacking challenges, growing bacteria and butterflies, will be some of the most fun activities we plan to do.

Students at my school benefit from as much hands on learning as possible.

Our school is recognized as high performing. Students are well behaved and often thank me for teaching them. I am the first teacher at this school to provide such hands on experiences for our students and they are loving it!

My Project

Class time with the students is short and this project will literally give us the most "bang for the buck" as we launch rockets to study the design process, Newton's 3rd law of Motion, and lab safety. We already have the bike pump and the bottles, we just need the launch pad.

This triple launcher will allow us to speed up the launch time and allow for multiple launches for each student.

Students will be involved in every step of the process for this lab. We will also measure height.
