My Students

I teach a creative group of second grade students. They are inquisitive and like to question why. In our classroom, I try to bring our curriculum to life with hands-on, innovative activities. I want my students to see the world around them and interact with the materials we are using.

I want my students to put their problem-solving skills to use and know that they can make a difference in the world by the choices they make.

I want them to know the sky is the limit and that they should reach for the stars.

My Project

I want my students to be 21st century learners. To do this, they need materials that will help them be creative, collaborate, apply their critical thinking skills, communicate with each other, and build a sense of community. Botley, a friendly, codable robot, will do just that, and so I am requesting three Botley the coding robot and Action challenge accessory packs. He can detect objects in front of him and avoid them, follow looping commands, take on obstacle courses, and follow black-line paths. This means that my students can have hours of fun while they learn to apply coding skills. As they master coding skills, Botley comes with an accessory challenge kit that will have them creating new adventures for Botley to complete. An advantage to Botley is that he does not require a tablet to program him. This means that students can pick up Botley and begin programming anywhere. Botley would be a great addition to our classroom!
