Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright, curious thinkers who care about the world around them. As we explore environmental science and climate change in our biology curriculum, I want to provide them with resources that go beyond the textbook — materials that make science feel alive, urgent, and deeply connected to their lives.
Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will allow me to purchase engaging, standards-aligned resources like simulations, labs, infographics, and project-based learning tools that can help bring complex environmental topics into focus.
With these materials, my students will investigate how human activity impacts ecosystems, explore real-world data, and analyze climate trends with fresh eyes and critical thinking skills.
Many of my students come from communities already facing the effects of a changing climate. By strengthening our curriculum with high-quality resources from educators around the country, I can ensure they are not only informed, but empowered. These lessons will give them the tools to ask meaningful questions, develop informed opinions, and imagine solutions.
