My Students

The students we have in our kindergarten classes are full of love, passion for learning and are so creative. They are so very full of life and are eager to ask many questions, explore and learn in any way possible.

Our school has 300 children who come from a wide variety of home lives.

Some people may think that since our school population is 100% free breakfast and lunch, we may be struggling or that the family or children are, but together we fight this stigma and work to improve and grow each child to their fullest potential.

This is so easily done, because no matter what, my kindergartens want to come to school each day to share in the rigorous work we do. These sweet students want to learn so many things, even if we don't always have all the resources.

My Project

Everyday I conduct guided reading lessons for my students where we focus in on fiction and non-fiction text, talk about basic concept of print, have discussions and make connections. All of this leads to building a great reader who is successful but also interested in reading for life. I will also use some materials ordered in both math instruction, intervention and to boost small group centers. Math centers are an area I am wanted to improve and make more consistent in order for my students to have more daily practice which is hands on and exciting for them. I cannot wait to see them soar with these amazing materials and experiences.
