My students need ribbons to add spice to our movement activities and my students need Lummi Sticks to play drums with!

My Students

My students are going to be the driving force of the culture and environment of our new school as its population will be comprised of students from three neighboring elementary schools. We will be a melting pot of cultures, races, economic levels and personalities! My students need more instruments to make music together and I am looking forward to the challenge! They are bright-eyed and can't wait to get instruments in their hands; they want to experiment, create and figure out what makes them a musician!

My Project

My students love to move with the scarves that we received through Donors Choose last school year. We want to add more fun to class! The ribbons will help younger students move to the music. This enhances their motor skills as well as allows them to really listen and analyze the music. The Lummi Sticks are so very helpful in class because they keep our drumming sounds quiet! The teachers in my hallway are almost going to love the sticks more than my students will. They are a great way to get the students playing drums without handing them drumsticks!
