This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Are you a visual learner? Help my students easily find books on a new bookshelf.

My students are low-income English learners who enjoy school, but struggle with reading.

Most of my students are reading one to two years below grade level. They enjoy learning about new concepts and digging deep into books. I want to help students maintain this love of learning by hooking them into books by displaying them in a prominent position in our classroom.

My Project

I am requesting a bookshelf that displays the books with the covers facing out. This way, students can see the books we have been reading in class. Right now, our books are organized in such a way that students have to flip through the boxes to see the covers. Help us organize our books in a better display format.

By displaying books on this bookshelf, our classroom environment will invite students to "get" into new books.

I will be able to display all the books for the theme we are studying and students can easily access wonderful literature.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
