We are a multicultural classroom. The majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We have a large population of migrant students from various places. The largest group is students from Somalia. For some of our students, this is their first time going to school in America.
Many of our students are trauma-impacted, low-income students.
These students view school as their safe place and a place where they can be themselves. We have a very supportive community that is built mostly of refugees.
I am looking for books to add to my science room bookshelf. I want to give all my students a chance to read books that they enjoy.
Books should be readily available to students at any time.
I found a bunch of titles that my students have shown an interest in and that I would like to add to my bookshelf. I also spend time reading out loud to my intervention students that are struggling with reading. I want to find a book that all students can relate to, in order to keep them interested in reading and keep the love of reading alive
