My classroom has been affected greatly by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) because I can no longer be with my students and this breaks my heart. They loved going to the classroom library and checking out a book to read. Now, all my students are learning from home and can learn by checking out books digitally.
Some students do not have access to a digital device, or if they do they don't have internet.
I currently do not have much at my house, but I do have a computer and internet. I would definitely use these books to read-aloud online to my students.
I am excited to read the "Little Spot" and "How to" stories to my students! These books give insight on how to stay mentally healthy. Mental health is extremely important, especially now, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students should have access on how to stay mentally healthy.
These books will not only help my students now, but any students in the future. These resources will make a difference in students learning from home because they will get to see their teacher and experience an online read aloud. They will get to develop positive GRIT traits by hearing these stories and interacting with their teacher and classmates. I would like for them to achieve great personality traits that will help them succeed in the real world.
I requested more books to help struggling readers when we are able to go back face-to-face. I can't wait to start preparing materials for next year, and helping students feel better while they are at home.
