Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th grade team needs books that will serve as mirrors for our youth!

We will emphasize skills in reading, writing, language, social studies, and more!

We are looking to expand our reading portfolio, and that means doing away with disconnected reading (from small excerpts) and harvesting rich diverse texts! CAN'T WAIT!

The learning doesn't stop with the reading - that is only the beginning! Students will use the novel as an inspiration for their own short stories, which we will publish and read at our year end family celebration.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
