My students are of various cultures. I am looking to add some books to my classroom library that my learners can identify with. I support project lit because I feel that the books are very relatable.
By having books that are relatable, my readers find joy in reading.
Nothing brings me greater satisfaction as a teacher than to see my students wanting to read. Once they are done reading, it is fantastic to hear the rich discussions that happen over a book that they have read.
My Project
The books chosen in this project will allow my students to have stories that are more like what they are experiencing in their personal lives.
By having a book that readers can identify with, the love of reading will be enhanced, and thus, reading comprehension and discussions about the text read will be rewarding.
One of the goals in my classroom is for every student to have a book that they can relate to. The only way that I can achieve this goal is through generous donors willing to help enhance my classroom library. The satisfaction to watch my classes enjoy reading brings me great joy!
