My students need readers on their reading levels to learn about science and social studies standards. These books are amazing! We can read the books, do individual and group projects and presentations in class.

My Students

My kids are amazing and so eager to learn! Many of our students come from low socioeconomic households, however, you cannot tell in the classroom because we all work hard every day and we are a big family. My kids love coming to school and learning each day in class. I love watching their thought process, love for learning new things and of course, the light bulb moments! We love to do hands-on activities and play games to learn new skills. We may do a lot of fitness and fun lessons (movement) and of course, we have actions for almost everything (parts of a sentence). This is what keeps our class fun and going smoothly. I love my kids and teaching! It's fun to hear them say "it's already time to go home? I wish we could stay at school."

My Project

Reading is an essential part of every class, especially in first and second grade. These books will allow us to teach our standards in the classroom in an exciting way. The kids will be able to read the book in class and then, we can do independent and small group projects and presentations for our class.

Children having tools and resources to learn and making it fun to learn is my ultimate goal in our classroom!

Every day we talk about using resources in our room and binders to help us figure out our answers or to help us. I want my kids to remember the fun stuff we did in class and be able to use it for years. The resources from this grant will put valuable books in their hands to do just that. We love learning and researching and appreciate any and all help to get these books in our kids' hands!
