I will be teaching 20 amazing and adorable Kindergarten scholars. They will enter my classroom with big smiles, happy, and ready to learn. Many students that come to our school do not speak English and have no preschool experience. We also have exceptional students included in our class.
We are a Global Magnet Title I School serving 65% low-income families who speak limited English.
We offer Mandarin Chinese and Spanish to our students. Our school also serves parents who work multiple jobs to help make ends meet.
I want my Kindergarten students to have a love for books and reading. Having Reading A-Z will provide me with differentiated books for my students which will increase their reading abilities. The reading books will be read on-line and students will also receive a copy of the books to take home and read nightly with their parents. During my guided reading time, I will use Headsprout books with my students and I will make copies of each book so that students can have access to the book in their home library. These books are also available in Spanish so my ESL students can read in their native language.
Having different types of books for students will drive their curiosity to want to read everyday.
Please help my students with loving books and engaging them to always want to read.
