Help me give my students books to spark their love for reading during remote learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Curry's classroom raised $536
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are 4 and 5 years old in a pre-k classroom. Some of them have never been in a daycare or school setting. The students are placed in our class based on an academic need and family income. The need can range in any of the following areas: social, cognitive, physical, literacy, and math. All of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. My focus is to make sure all of our students are prepared for kindergarten.
My Project
My project will give my pre-k students a mini book collection of 5-7 books to keep at home. I would like to teach my students print awareness. They will learn concepts such as identifying the front of the book, back of the book, spine, title, author, and how to turn the pages of the book. My students will receive various non fiction and fiction titles. The book sets include various levels and books in Spanish to meet the needs of all of my students. I will give my students basic comprehension questions to go with the books they receive.
The materials I am requesting will help to spark an interest in reading at home during remote learning.
I want my students to love and enjoy reading about different topics.
