This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach students that come from a variety of different backgrounds including those from low-income families. I also teach students from military families who experience many transitions. The students that I serve are affected by the many changes in life such as homelessness, deployment and stressful home life, to name a few. At school, they feel safe. My students are eager and ready to learn each day they walk through the door.
I want my students to be lifelong learners who will always strive for success.
I am a math teacher but I also teach life lessons.
My Project
My students love to read and because most of them have been here since Kindergarten, a variety of books about diversity is just what they need. These books will provide them literacy comprehension and open them up to a whole new genre of books. The math manipulatives to help with multiplication will provide students with the practice they need to master their math facts.
Pencils, Pencils, Pencils are the hottest item in my classroom.
Students would prefer to use my pencils instead of the many they have in their pencils pouches. I want to be able to provide them with this necessary tool.
