Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school with a high percent of economic, disadvantage students. During my first year of teaching, I got to see first-hand the hardships that our students encounter in everyday life. For most of our students, school is the place they come to get away from everyday life and it's their opportunity to learn and be a kid. A lot of our students don't have the home environment that supports education and I want my classroom to be a safe, fun and engaging place for them. They are an amazing bunch of students and they love learning!
My Project
Reading is vital to every student! Some love to read any book they can get their hands on, while others think of it as a chore. All it takes is one book to change a students mind about reading. Reading is the foundation to every subject, but with outdated materials students won't venture to read without being told.
Explore a different world while sitting safely in the classroom.
Help me create a library with fun and engaging literature for students to read. Help me give the students a chance to go on adventures beyond their imaginations. When students read a whole new world opens up to them. Please help me give them the chance to grow in reading!
