Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In March, I always give my students a Women's History Month poster project where students research a woman of their choosing and then present their poster. This allows students to learn about successful women in history and practice oral presentations which is a skill they will need as they grow older.

In a male dominated world it is important to demonstrate to my students, both male and female, that women could also change the course of history and do extraordinary things.

This year, I am continuing the project. However, I want my students to be able to research through books instead of the Internet. As technology grows, students are becoming less fond of books and more of technology.

There is something special about reading physical books, and there is no better way to introduce physical books in class than with the introduction of amazing women in history.
