My Project

Our school is considered a Title I school, and all students receive free lunch and breakfast. Many of our students live in low-income housing, hotels, or shelters. For some, English is their second language, some have special needs, and many have experienced traumatic experiences. Yet these awesome kids come to school every day ready to work hard and are always eager to learn new skills. They are a wonderful group of tiny humans!

As I wrote before, our students have limited resources, and that includes books of their very own, or "to keep forever and ever" as they say!

Studies have shown that children who do not read over the summer break, lose some of the skills they have learned. But how can they read without books? I would like to provide at least 3 books for each child to read over the summer and to "Keep forever and ever"! They love Little Bear books and soccer so I have included those in the books requested. Please help give these wonderful readers some fun and interesting books!
