My Project

I work with a small group of students during lunch to improve their reading.

I want my students to continue reading over the summer.

I created this booklist with them and will let them borrow these books to read this summer. Many of these books are from lists of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage. Every May during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and throughout the year I encourage students to read share those histories and the continuing culture thriving in our community. Asian Americans are often left out of view of American history but their lives—and art—are inextricably intertwined with the nation's history. Bringing these books into our school will help spread these stories this month.
