My Project

I teach resource classes to all elementary grades. My students are at least two grade levels behind in reading. Reading is difficult for all of my students. I have been able to find engaging, simple books that they love to read.

I would like to add new titles in their favorite series to keep them hooked on reading.

Some of my students increased their reading levels by 4 and 5 levels this past term due to their passion for reading.

An example of how motivating these books will be is that many of my students are unable to read the Percy Jackson series like their peers, but they can be successful in reading the graphic novel version. They will stretch themselves to read the text and the graphics will help them understand the story.
