Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Read Across America Week has become a passion of mine as a 1st grade teacher. I wanted a reason to make books come to life for my students and for the past 5 years we have grown a wonderful Read Across America Week with our school. We have readers from all walks of life come read to our students in English and in Spanish, we have an awesome Spirit Week centered around books and we make books come to life for our students. As this week grows more and more, my ideas have grown too. This year I have a dream all students PK-8th grade to go home with a book in English and Spanish picked by their teachers.

We need your help to make this dream come a reality.

Being a dual language school it is so important that our students not only have access to litercy in both languages in the classroom but at home too. We are looking for donations to purchase a book in English and Spanish for each student.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
