Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is an urban Title I school where all our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students come to school eager to learn. They love reading and the hands-on science activities that we can provide at our school. Although life is not always easy, especially since Covid-19, they still have so much hope for the future. We do our best to give them the tools they need to make their dreams come true.

Our school represents many different cultures and backgrounds and we work hard to respect each one of them.

Many students do not have computers or books at home. Still their families are involved in their education and know how important a good education is for their future. Our students need to We want to share the love of reading!

My Project

These books meet the reading standards in all grades K-5. Each grade level have standards related to reading. We were able to get a book vending machine last year and our students love it! They are able to earn tokens to buy books.

We would like to have our project funded so we can buy more books for our vending machine.

These books are taken home and help the families that may not have the money to buy books for their children.

The more books kids have at home the more likely they are to read.
