Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first year teacher and was recently hired for the 2018-2019 school year! I do not know my students yet, otherwise I would write all about them :)
My school has a population of diverse students who need plentiful literacy resources in the classroom to read and grow!
My students should be able to come to school everyday with a classroom that is full of resources to help them grow their reading and writing skills. I want my classroom to feel warm and welcome to all of my students!
My Project
As a first year teacher, I do not have many literacy resources for my classroom. My 4th grade students are at an age where it is crucial for them to practice their reading fluency and comprehension on a daily basis.
I believe the selections I chose will reach many interest levels and create the opportunity for my students to be excited about reading!
I chose a wide variety of books to be donated to my classroom ranging from fictional stories that will be engaging for my students to books representing the beauty of diversity and culture. I want to be able to provide enough reading resources in my classroom so that my students will never have a reason not to read!
