My students are thrilled to use the many manipulatives, comfortable seating, and math counters while building and expanding their math skills. We are currently working on composing and decomposing teen numbers. The 10 frame pop-its and ten frames are incredibly useful! My students are able to use the new number blocks to build their 10s and ones to really have math come to life for them.\r\nWhen the packages began arriving the students were eager to see the materials. The first items we initially used were our new stories about first grade. These lovely stories have built community and engaged my students in becoming true first graders. \r\nThe snacks have been a huge success. Since we are title one school many of students are experiencing food insecurities. This is one more thing in place to be sure their tummy are full and they are ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1758927276668,"projectUrl":"project/make-math-magical/9563403/","projectTitle":"Make Math Magical","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Schmidt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1147142_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y776&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723004241474","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1147142"},{"teacherId":9629359,"projectId":9181740,"letterContent":"The new materials have completely changed the feel of my office and how students use the space. With the scissors, tape, Velcro, glue sticks, and laminator, I've been able to make all kinds of hands-on visuals and activities that keep students engaged. One of our favorite things we made together was \"calm choice\" cards, students helped design and laminate their own reminders of what helps them when they're upset or need a break. They were so proud to see their ideas come to life, and it's been awesome watching them actually use the tools they created.\r\n\r\nWhen the school year began, the students were so excited to see the new office come together! They love coming into what they now call \"calm office\". The fidgets help them stay focused while we talk or work on goals, and the bean bag has become everyone's go-to spot to reset when they need a moment. The space feels cozy and welcoming, and students have really opened up more because of it. Next, we're continuing to build on our lessons about emotions and problem-solving, using these materials to practice coping strategies and mindfulness. I'm so thankful to our donors for helping make my office a space where kids feel safe, calm, and cared for.","fullyFundedDate":1746786406755,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-success-helping-students-stic/9181740/","projectTitle":"Tools for Success: Helping Students Stick, Snip, and Shine!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alexa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629359"},{"teacherId":9629359,"projectId":8962422,"letterContent":"The moment I unpacked and organized the new materials, my students were immediately drawn in—eager to join group time to read a new book or try out a new game. One student in particular, who is often disengaged from both academic work and emotional conversations, lit up when he saw the Spot books. This excitement opened the door for meaningful dialogue around self-regulation and helped build his interest in school-related materials.\r\n\r\nThe enthusiasm for these resources has shaped the way I plan my groups. I've been designing lessons around the books and board games, which has encouraged students to participate more openly. These tools have created a safe space for students to express what they're struggling with and reflect on the support they need to be successful at school.","fullyFundedDate":1741047755554,"projectUrl":"project/emotion-explosion/8962422/","projectTitle":"Emotion Explosion!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alexa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629359"},{"teacherId":1147142,"projectId":8570319,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support in funding our first-grade phonics project.
