Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a small suburban school located in South-Western Denver that serves a great community of students and their families from Pre-K through 5th grade.
We have students that speak two or more languages, special education students, preschool students, and many different cultures.
Our students and their families love using the FREE Little Library! The FREE Little Library is a wonderful way to encourage reading, sharing books, passing books onto a friend, and most importantly a school wide love of literacy!
My Project
Our PTO has created a FREE little library for all students to access grades Pre-K though 5th grade. At the beginning of the school year the PTO held a book bingo event to collect books for the FREE little library. Since then, our FREE little library has been busy. Students are taking books from the library so they can read at home.
Our school's goal is to promote reading at home and wanted to provide a way to give students access to FREE quality books.
Students can take, donate, or borrow books from the FREE little library and our little library is in need of more books!
