Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to read books and they feel proud when they can read on their own. However, our library is in need of some new books for my students to enjoy independently.

Research shows that children who read for enjoyment perform better academically than those who don't.

Reading helps children develop a broader vocabulary, it exposes them to other cultures, and increases their general knowledge. These requested beginner books are written using words my students can sound out and high frequency words we study in class. They offer, necessary, enjoyable practice in reading.

Adding to our library will offer my students a variety of books to choose from that they can proudly read independently.
