My Students

Christmas is a wonderful time to share something you love to do with someone else. This Christmas I want to give each of my students the gift of reading! Every child enjoys having a gift to open at Christmas, I want to give every student a book.

I teach in a high poverty, English Language Learner, extraordinary school in Indiana.

Our students are refugees from Burma and come without any formal education. They have fled political and religious persecution in Burma. Our students live well below the poverty line and many will celebrate Christmas without any gifts this year.

My Project

We would like to purchase one book for every child in our class so they can have a book at home. We have 250 English Language Learners in our school, this grant would begin the process of buying books for them. We will continue to write grants on this site for books to be able to give every child a book for Christmas this year.

Your help would allow every child to have a book.

You would be ensuring every child would get to read before bed each night. Through your support our classroom Christmas tree will be plentiful with books to inspire young learners. We are teaching the love of reading to last a lifetime!
