My Students

My students are part of a Title I neighborhood school in eastern North Carolina. We have 54% of our students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My students enjoy coming to school every day to learn new and exciting skills that will help them to become successful second graders!

I have around 20 students who would benefit from this grant being funded.

My Project

I would love to be able to purchase these awesome wintry and biographical books for my 2nd grade students.

We would use the non-fiction books to learn about ordinary people and how they changed the world and use the picture books to practice finding story elements (character, setting, beginning, middle, and end of a story) and summarizing a story.

They are all wonderful and entertaining books that I know my students would love and we would keep them in our classroom library so they can read them over and over again.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
