My Students

I teach a Special Education program for students who have qualified Emotionally Disturbed, because of this many of my students struggle with having me or my staff read to them.

My students love to be exposed to the same books as other students their age.

My Project

During the shut down many students with behavior issues chose not to get online. This caused me as a Special Education teacher to loose much needed time with my students who where already behind. My students have shown an interest in following along with audiobooks, but I have such a limited number I would like to expand my audiobook library.

When struggling readers follow along as a book is being read to them they get exposure to new words and get more opportunities to have meaning full conversations with their peers about age appropriate books.

I have seen one of my students come out of his shell by being able to have these types of conversations.
