My Students

My students are great. They are smart and hard-working and funny and kind. Many of them excel at school, and for others,​ it's a struggle. Some of them read really well and voraciously, while others balk at reading and will do anything to avoid it.

My students are at an age when they still demonstrate a lot of childhood innocence and gain a broader social awareness and understanding of some complex issues.

Life for them can be exciting and overwhelming, but they want to succeed. They also want to feel that their learning has real-world applications.

My Project

I have seen my students struggle this year with their social interactions. Many of the books in this project will be used for book groups, which will not only help students to develop skills in reading and analysis of a text, but also give them opportunities to have academic conversations about what they read.

Students also need opportunities to access the world outside the classroom.

The class set of headphones in this order will help them to access materials that both broaden their horizons and meet their individual learning needs through videos, audiobooks, podcasts, and instructional content.
