Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a lucky teacher of second-grade students. My students aim to please and are always interested in learning something new. They think best when given hands-on materials. Their curious nature makes them so very special!

I find that it is very important to keep my students engaged and excited about learning.

The best way to do this is by providing them with hands-on materials and resources that focus on current events. This allows my students the opportunity to learn more about what is taking place in the world around them. In addition, it makes learning a lot more fun!

As I look around my classroom and browse my bookshelves, I notice that I do not have enough books that focus on the wonderful accomplishments of famous African Americans.

This set of books will educate my students and spark their interest in learning more about famous African Americans.

The set is at the perfect reading level and interest of my second grade students. I would read one book per day and take time to learn more about that individual or individuals. Students would be encouraged to share their learning at home.

Books are a true gateway to educate all minds!
