My Project

Hello! I work with special education preschoolers. They are the best of the best! Many of my students are non-verbal and struggle with social skills. Because of these concerns, my students may have trouble taking care of classroom supplies. I intentionally use board books in my classroom because they are stronger and less likely to tear.

The students in my class absolutely love looking at books and having someone read to them.

This part of their day not only builds important relationships but also builds pre-academic skills. We are learning that letters correlate with sounds. And letters put together make words.

Unfortunately, many books in our class have had years of wear and tear. They are well loved and mostly held together with packing tape. I do my best to keep as many books out and accessible to children as I can. The staff in my classroom work each day to help our students correctly and carefully handle books.

With your support, we can provide many more books for the students in my class to continue to learn and grow!
