Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says I’m Possible!” We are a very energetic classroom with a very diverse population.
My students have many different characteristics, but one common goal: to learn and be successful.
We spend our day working through challenges and celebrating the successes! My students are motivated and like to have fun in the classroom! The classroom is a revolving door with students entering at different times for different subjects. They love to be included and want to learn how to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
My Project
How many of you remember sitting in a circle around your elementary school teacher? The teacher would be reading a picture book and you would be so interested in the colorful pictures and the words that were written. The book would take you to a new world, or introduce you to people who you would learn more about throughout your school years.
"That's the thing about books They let you travel without moving your feet."- Jhumpa Lahiri
Picture books are very beneficial in the classroom. They allow students to explore a world through words and pictures. Having many different books for different grade levels will allow students the opportunity to find something that interests them.
