My Students

I currently teach fourth grade at an elementary school in my hometown. A lot of my students are faced with challenges, both in and out of the classroom.

Yet, despite these challenges, many of my students continue to come each and every day, ready to learn.

My goal is to continue to encourage and deepen their love for learning and change my students' way of thinking into a positive growth mindset.

My Project

I have asked for multiple, new book titles for my classroom. This year, I am having a hard time getting my students to pick up a book and read. During our independent reading time, I am constantly staying on students to read and I know they are still just staring at the page.

I am hoping these interesting, new books will help engage my students and make them want to read.

I have asked for a variety of graphic novels and other books titles. I am not a huge fan of graphic novels. However, if my students will read them, I will give them a try. I am going to do everything I can to encourage them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
