Help me give my students mentor books for daily social-emotional learning. These include diverse titles that focus on teamwork, bullying, positive communication, and self confidence.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
A typical day in my class is having my preschoolers come to school excited and ready to learn. They are really interested in technology, reading books, playing math games and taking pictures of their work.
My students are 4 and 5 years old in a public school.
They are at our prekindergarten because they were identified as at-risk academically.
They are naturally curious and like to experience things hands-on. They are visual and hands-on learners and need a variety of items.
My Project
All children deserve high quality literature in the classroom. Whether it be books about character- power of kindness , developing social/emotional tools ; learning about different kinds of people ; accepting your mistakes ; learning the beauty of words ; feeling inspired or books that capture the imagination and help children fall in love with reading.
"Books open windows to the world and have the power to transform lives." (Ralph Lauren)
The books that I am requesting will be used to teach social skills to my students. We will use the books in our curriculum to make social skills a fun part of our learning. These books teach appropriate social skills using fun stories that are exciting and students can relate to!
