Using non-ficiton books In my Outdoor Transitional Kindergarten class helps us learn about the world around us.
Using a variety of non-fiction books on topics that interest my students scaffolds and builds their learning and discovery. We usually start our outdoor time by reading a book and then investigate and explore based on the topic or interests of the day.
This year I found I was in need of several more books to keep up with the interests. The book topics needed are learning the difference between non-living and living things, animal and plant needs, animal habitats, evergreen and deciduous trees, seasons, weather, the life cycle of plants and animals, nocturnal animals, gardening, and more. These books will build my class library and will directly benefit my students' learning. Thank you for considering funding this project.
