This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Spending my first year as a long-term substitute, I quickly noticed the importance of creating not just a learning environment, but a community where students are provided with opportunities for successful experiences regardless of their entry point. As a first year teacher for the 2023-2024 school year, it is my mission to develop an inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered community.
I am requesting stacking stools and a variety of books for our classroom.
My future students deserve an engaging and relevant classroom library where they can see themselves in books and connect to their interests and passions. With your donations, my students will not only have access to classroom supplies and resources that will meet their basic needs but they will also have a diverse library that all students can access and feel connected to.
