My Project

This project is designed to support my students’ early literacy development while also helping them build important classroom habits.

The Fly Guy series books will provide high-interest, beginner-friendly chapter books that help students successfully make the transition into longer texts.

These books are fun, approachable, and perfect for building reading confidence.

Binders and sheet protectors will help students learn how to organize and take care of their work. At this age, building these habits early helps students feel successful and responsible in their learning environment.

Treasure box items will be used as positive reinforcement to celebrate effort, growth, and good choices. These small incentives help keep students motivated and excited about learning.

Why It Matters

In 1st grade, small successes make a big impact. When students feel successful while reading, they are more likely to keep trying. When they are organized, they feel more confident. When their effort is recognized, they stay motivated.

This project will help create a classroom where students feel capable, excited, and proud of their progress as they grow into readers.
