My Project

I have the opportunity to teach reading, writing, and social studies to two different groups of 4th graders throughout my day, which means I need to keep a well-stocked library to service approximately 60 students each year! Lately, my students have been requesting comic books. I'd love to provide them with some vocabulary-rich graphic novels that will help them to grow as readers in a way that feels accessible and enjoyable to them.

I work with many ADHD, autistic, and other neurodivergent students who would feel so validated to have access to books written specifically with them in mind.

Because of this, I've created a wish list to build their dream library. The wish list includes science and history graphic novels about topics such as volcanoes, the Wright Brothers, and the Underground Railroad, several high-interest adventure novels, and even a read-aloud about a child's experience with dyslexia. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in making this dream library come true!
