My fifth-grade classroom is a place of growth and learning. A high percentage of my students are learning English as a second language and benefit greatly from visual aids and hands-on activities.
The students in my Title I classroom are fifth graders in a rural area of a Utah town.
These students are excited to learn and find joy in the challenge that the learning process can bring. This school year, we are focusing on future goals in education and maximizing the potential of each child to achieve great things as they progress through life.
My Project
This year, we are discovering the joy that comes from reading. My students have been enjoying meeting with a Literature Circle group each Friday and discussing the books they are reading together. It has been such a treat for me to see their faces light up as they become excited about the stories they are reading.
My students are learning to love the magic waiting to be discovered between the pages of a great book.
I have noted several books and series my students have wished for but been unable to find. They would be beyond thrilled if these titles like the Maze Runner Series and the Percy Jackson Series were made available to them in our classroom library for pleasure reading.
