Help me give my students a multitude of adventures through books. Multiple book sets will give them many opportunities to read at their level and experience a world of portable magic.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school strives for excellence and to find the leader in every student. Every child has unique abilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class are exceptional young people. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
My class consists of 20 amazing students.
Of those 20, 17 are English language learners, 3 receive resource services, and one is in speech. They all have a "power of yet" attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance a print-rich classroom that provides adventure through reading...an atmosphere I strive to create. My classroom consists of children that read at all levels. These books will help them gain confidence by reading books at their level and being able to comprehend and talk about literature with their peers. My students will be so thankful for the opportunities to read many different books and go on many different adventures with the characters they will meet along the way. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind; their levels, their interests, and their passion for adventure.
With these new books, my students will be able to read a variety of books that will allow them to read, understand, and discuss literary adventures with their peers, all while becoming better, more confident readers.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown great excitement in reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
