My Project

My middle schoolers are not enthusiastic readers. Every fall I begin the daunting quest of convincing phone addicted twelve year olds that reading is entertaining. It's a slow, slow process. Many are reading well below grade level and have intense negative feelings about books. However, thanks to DonorsChoose, my classroom has a spectacular library. There are books for every interest and every reading level. I have carefully selected books that were accessible to struggling readers without being embarrassingly childish. With this project, I am asking for new novels to entice my students.
