Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the District Technology Coordinator and Library/Media Specialist in 2 buildings — Middle School/High School building, as well as Elementary building. I am so fortunate to service these students all the way from Pre-K to seniors in high school. It amazes me to watch them flourish throughout their years of school. The children are curious and have a love for technology, always craving more knowledge. They challenge and support each other in many ways, sometimes without even knowing. It is refreshing to see their inquisitiveness and it is a joy to watch them thrive. They initiate learning by their curiosities and achieve successes each day.
My Project
All of our students read at various levels. It is so important that our library has a collection that is filled with books that fit every reader and their level. By giving the students a wide variety of genre, both fiction and non-fiction, we can find something to interest every child.
It doesn't matter whether our students have someone read to them or they read themselves, books are vitally important to a students' learning.
I feel that bringing in new and exciting books to the library will intrigue each student in some way or another!
