This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the best! This year I have such a wonderful group of kids that love learning and come to school happy and eager every single day! I work in West Orange NJ with a very diverse group of students that are all wonderful and unique in different ways. Some come from having had a pre-school experience, others have not. Some go home to food, toys, and books at their house, others, unfortunately, do not have these blessings. However, ALL of my kids are smart, beautiful, and happy! They are learning so much and have all began reading! That's where we need your help- BOOKS!

My Project

We are looking to expand our Leveled Libraries and our BRAINS! My students have been reading through all of the books available in our classroom and we are asking for donations of new, exciting, and engaging books on our reading levels. Please help!

Having more books will allow my students to grow and flourish in and out of the classroom.

We are in need of more fiction and non-fiction stories to add to our leveled baskets. These books will be used DAILY- during Independent Reading time, Partner Reading time, Guided Readers, and even sent home to read with our families. We are also asking for a few flexible seatings- Flex-Ball Seats. This will allow us to move around and read all over the room to remain engaged and work on our reading stamina!

We could never have enough books and we are all so grateful for your help and donations!
