At this time, they are learning how to stack small obiejcts, snap together blocks to create robots, and sort numbers, colors and letters into small containers. The new manipulatives are helping the students to challenge themselves and explore their capabilities. My students were excited when they saw the big box containing the sand table arrive.\r\nAfter putting the table together, we placed it outside and they were able to begin playing. \r\nThe sand table allowed them to explore diverse materials and conquer their fear of manipulating new textures and experiencing new sensations. While playing at the sand table, they were also able to socialize and acquire skills, such as sharing and taking turns. \r\nThe sand table kept the children well-occupied and happy. Learning through play is an effective way to teach children important skills that will help them throughout life.
