This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been getting to know my students very well and I am seeing more and more the potential that they have. There is a distinct passion within each of them and they bring so much energy and intelligence to the classroom each and every day.

My students are dreamers.

These students are beginning to understand how to invest in themselves and the values of succeeding, both academically and personally. We have so many students who wish to contribute to a positive learning environment.

My Project

My students are learning the value of reading and how it will benefit their lives. We are seeing the beginnings of a new reading mindset with the students and wish to push them to new limits by providing them new books for the classrooms.

Books provide windows into different worlds.

These requested books are standards when considering literature for this age group. Many of my students are learning English as a second language and I want to provide more options that will help them improve on their English. We are learning more and more about standards within literature and I want my students to be able to explore those books for themselves. The requested books are not currently available at my school.
