Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will help foster a love of reading and provide students with an engaging learning experience. During our reading centers, students have the opportunity to read independent books of their choosing. However, many students currently only select books from one genre or series. In order to deepen their understanding of different genres and encourage them to choose many different books to read, my hope is to use these materials to transform the room into the Book Bites Cafe for a book tasting with backdrops, tablecloths, and aprons.

Reviewing book choices and genres in an exciting manner will help increase student investment and interest.

Forty one hard-working fourth-grade students in two classrooms will benefit from this project. These fantastic students demonstrate continued enthusiasm for learning and would be greatly appreciative of this engaging learning opportunity.
