Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project will provide students with a modern, home feel, book storage nook. The book nook will be a calm and inviting space for high school students to relax and leisurely enjoy reading.

Students can go to the book nook in their free time to help promote literacy.

With Covid hitting our classrooms in the last couple of years, getting high school students up to their reading ability has been a challenge. With this welcoming space, I am hoping that students will have an increased interest in independent reading, helping them with phonics, oral reading fluency, vocabulary development, and comprehension of various genres.
