This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thanks to the magic of social media our library just received over 500 new books to add to my outdated collection. I can't wait to get these new books in the hands of students! However, our library is standalone building in a large high school that has historically been under-utilized. While I'm working on building a library program our students deserve, I don't want them to miss the amazing things available to them!

I want to take my library outside the walls and bring books and resources TO the students instead of waiting for them to come to me.

We have over 1700 students who would benefit from this project. With this cart I can check out books to students during class changes or pop-up visits to classes. I can offer book talks and reader's advisory anywhere in the building. I can show up to our classes with English language learners with books in Spanish or Arabic. I can curate collections for classes based on their interests. Having a large, quality book cart is the only way I can truly make this happen!

Help me connect students with all these new books, and even the oldies but goodies!
