My Project

With your donation, we can set our sophomores and juniors for a Spring full of reading together. In today's climate, peer-to-peer discussion has fallen victim to technology. Through book clubs, not only are students getting the chance to read their choice book, but also have the opportunity to have organic, full bodied conversations about texts they find interesting. Our book club unit emphasizes discourse strategies as well as the beauty of talking about books without an agenda or a set of comprehension questions. Students really get to take their own initiative together, as a team, to move through the stories they chose.

Students will be finishing up their year with this unit, which is why this project is so urgent!
