My students need chapter book set.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are active, engaged and having a wonderful time learning in our classroom! Sitting is totally overrated and we believe reading should involved reading to each other, listening to reading and learning from one another as we explore and engage in learning each day!
My students are wonderful, insightful and eager to learn students!
They have a hunger to know more information, and a genuine desire to explore new material. They bring a heart of gold to our classroom each day with their kind hearts, kind actions and kind words. Our school is a wonderful place filled with loving staff members eager to assist any student no matter age. My students are coming from a low socio-economic background, yet work incredibly hard despite hard and/ or poverty-like conditions. My students have a true desire to learn and want to make a difference in their generation!
We will use these chapter book sets to start book clubs within my classroom. Guided reading, literature circles and read alouds are a crucial part of student learning and reading growth. In addition, we implement Daily 5 for 40 minutes each day to help aid in student growth, as well as engage students in reading. Students will read chapter books with their peers and complete book club activities for each book throughout the academic year. Students will gain vocabulary an understanding of text structure, and a love for reading while reading these books! Students will be able to strengthen vocabulary, analyze character traits, identify story elements, and draw from conclusions!
This project will change students lives because they will be able to dive deep into rich chapter books and explore realistic fiction, fantasy and humor fiction, all while enabling my students to grow and learn in a cooperative environment with their peers.
This project will develop not only their reading abilities, but spark a true interest in reading!
